The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing it as a “profound and weighty loss” to the Muslim Ummah.
According to a statement credited to his office, Sheikh Zakzaky extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, students, and followers, praying that Allah forgives him and grants him a lofty station in Paradise.
“The shocking news of the demise of the great Scholar, Sheikh Ɗahiru Usman Bauchi (R), today Thursday, 06/Jimada Ath-Thaniyah/1447, has thrown his lovers in a profound grief.
“The late Sheikh was one of the renowned scholars whose vast knowledge benefited numerous clerics and students alike. This is a profound a loss to the entire Muslim ummah,” the Sheikh stated.
Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a renowned Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, passed away on Thursday at the age of 100.
The late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi was revered for his immense erudition and lifelong dedication to Islamic learning. Through his teachings, which guided thousands of students and scholars, and his contributions to education and community development, he garnered profound admiration. His departure has left a deep chasm within the Muslim Ummah, most acutely felt by those he directly mentored.
