The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Transportation Daura, Professor Umar Adam Katsayal, has praised the China Railway Signal and Communication (CRSC) International Company for organizing a highly informative and engaging 14-day International Seminar on Rail Transit Intelligent Control System.
Held in China, the seminar brought together Nigerian stakeholders to learn about China’s rail transit technology and its applications. Professor Katsayal, in his closing remarks, expressed gratitude to CRSC for providing a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
“We are now better informed about the rail transit intelligent control system and the rail transport system in general, the modernization of China, the technological advancement of China, and the people of China generally,” Professor Katsayal said. “We say a very big thank you for providing us with the needed conducive environment and materials for the seminar to take place without any hitch.”
He continued, “The rich contents of the lectures presented by the various experts of different disciplines and the practical component, along with the various visits conducted around Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou, have really opened our minds and provided us with amazing understanding of the opening-up of China, the modernization of China, the history of China, the technological advancement of China, as well as the rich culture and traditions of the Chinese people.”
Professor Katsayal further said, “I believe that we are all fascinated with everything presented in the lectures and the practical sessions, and with what we witnessed during our various visits. The experiences are so marvelous, ranging from the understanding of the rail transit intelligent control system, the history and the technological development of China’s railway and China’s metro in particular, and China’s scientific and technological advancement in general.”
He commended CRSC for their excellent organization and hospitality, wishing participants a safe journey back home. The seminar, he noted, has strengthened ties between Nigeria and China in the rail transport sector, paving the way for future collaborations.
Professor Katsayal expressed confidence that participants would apply the knowledge gained to drive growth and development in Nigeria’s rail transport industry, and also contribute to the country’s economic development.
